Gigglezilla Preschool 2.5-6 years

We are inspired by the learning philosophy’s of Maria Montessori.

Our Classroom Environment

Our classroom is unique. It’s small but mighty! The toys and shelving are primarily made of natural materials which create an aesthetically pleasing learning environment.

The toys and materials are made available at the child’s level, always. The classroom is rotated frequently to keep excitement and engagement in the preschool. You won’t find many toys with flashing lights or loud sounds and the shelves are intentionally stocked with just a few toys to reduce overstimulation. Each toy in the prepared environment is carefully selected and can be used in a variety of ways.  This approach to play encourages creative thinking. The classroom also has beautiful large windows and natural elements such as plants for the kids to water, feed, and repot.

Our Approach to Learning

Kids learn best when they are free to discover, stumble, ask questions, and feel safe. Our approach to learning is discovery-driven and child-led.

The teacher assists as much as necessary and interrupts as little as possible to allow the child to explore and manipulate the chosen materials as they see fit. This method of learning fosters independence, critical thinking, problem-solving, curiosity, and empowerment.

Our program also offers traditional learning elements such as daily circle time, preschool songs, letter and number recognition, monthly themes, and tons of pretend play!

Our Focus

Our focus is to provide a space where parents feel safe and comfortable leaving their children. A space where children can learn, play, and let their hair down!

I wanted to create a preschool environment where I would feel comfortable leaving my own children. My daily focus is how do I care for children in a way that’s impactful. How do I support their social and emotional health. How do I ensure that they feel love. Protected. Safe. And enjoy learning. My most sincere desire is to nurture, protect, and teach children. It’s my life’s work. It’s what God put me here to do! My focus is always on the betterment of the children (and families) in my care. Cliché, I know. But it’s true. I am far from perfect but try everyday to be a kind person.” Owner, Shandace Robertson

Outdoor Play

There’s no such thing as bad weather. only bad clothing/gear. We spend an ample amount of time outdoors because it’s an extension of our classroom. Rain or shine, we’ll be outside! You’ll find us jumping in puddles, chasing butterflies, stacking rocks, and of course watering and harvesting our small garden bed. Come play with us!
